Hello happy Saturday!

Thursday night for darts my fist time up I got a high ton which was super exciting. It was 2 bulls eyes and a triple 18 for 154 points. I won the whole game on that one and then played like my usual crap after that haha.

Friday I watched the kids until about 3. The baby was a little clingy hopefully he's not getting sick.

He walked from my chair in the kitchen to the couch which is pretty far too! He also climbed up on this little chair but then didn't know what to do with himself lol.

This is Rosie when she gets told she can't stand on the table. Or anything really. She's so dramatic!

After they left I went and laid on my bed. Aunt Flo really did a number on me this time. Probably anemic from losing so much blood lol. I eventually got back up and cleaned up the toys. Tubz helped. She's such a box kitty.

I debated going to get something to eat but just made myself a pb&j and went back to bed lol. I didn't sleep the whole time but I should be well rested now. I got up at 5am to go to the bathroom and unstick my dry eyes. Got a drink of water and went back to bed until 8. 

Tonight we are going to go to my brother's house to do dinner for my mom's bday. Chinese food and the good stuff too! Not sure if Jess is going to bring the kids or not since Daniel was coughing a bit. 

Not sure what else I'll do with my day. Probably work on some more of the denim and batik squares. I decided to make it into a rag quilt. I laid them out on my bed the other day and decided it needs one more row in each direction. After that I will be almost out of the batik I think. I used up almost all of the 6" denim squares I had cut too. I do still have some 8" ones left though. One way to use it up ;) 

Tomorrow my mom and I are going to go see Wicked I think. That was the plan before we had this dinner tonight. I was looking up the movies and there is a Lion King movie in the theater too so might have to take Daniel to see that. If not he'll love it when it's out streaming I'm sure.

Yesterday I got a letter saying Trevor will be aging off my dental & vision insurance on his birthday. They have dropped the age from 23 to 22 on that. I told him we should make him appointments to get the last of it real quick! his birthday is the end of February. I also got a letter about Melissa aging out of my medical insurance 31 days after her birthday this year too. All my kids growing up!

Good morning happy Thursday! 

No work today so I could stay in a bed a bit longer. I need to go find some socks my feet are freezing. 

The fires down south are so horrible. I hope they can get control of them soon. All those people losing their homes is just so sad.

Here is what my current project is looking like.. I have 8 of these and now I'm like should I make some more and make them into a quilt or just make a few bags out of them? I went to bed early last night because I was a little annoyed with myself not being able to decide what to do with them haha. Leaning towards large bags but then I'm like a quilt would be pretty. 

 

Dinner last night, I made it not that long ago and it was so good I made it again. 

Lucy patiently waiting for her breakfast this morning. She's so funny. She sleeps on and or around me. 

Aunt Flo is kicking my ass today. She's so mean.

Darts tonight! Haven't been out to do anything social in awhile.

Hello happy Wednesday! 

It's my week's Friday and I've gone 1 hours before I can go take a nap. I'm exhausted today for some reason. Maybe because Aunt Flo showed up several days late. She could have just not came at all. So rude. 

I was super busy all morning with work. One of my offices has a new "acting" boss since the other gal retired. Of course this guy is all excited and is going balls to the wall trying to be the best office boss ever. I'm like this office is so small it hardly does anything why are we so excited lol.

Yesterday I was playing with some batik strips and denim squares. I just repinned my triangles I ended up with. I'll probably cut them apart in a different direction after I sew them together. Trying to mix the fabrics a bit and don't know what I'm doing. Just playing around.

Last night's blurry dinner pic. Shepherd's Pie or as I saw in someone's Tik Tok video, Cottage pie since it's made with beef not lamb. I think that was all the beef I bought for this week so we're onto chicken for tonight.

Trevor is working 2 shifts today so he left early. The house is real quiet since Simon hasn't been yelling to go in and out like she was yesterday. She's not a big fan of the wind so I think she'd get out there and then remember it was icky.

Not sure what I'll do with myself for tomorrow. Probably wash some clothes and sew. I'm so exciting. I have darts in the evening so I'll get some social time for the week. 

My birthday is one month from today. I can't believe how old I am now, although it's ok I'd rather be old than dead ;)

Hello happy Tuesday!

I finished my bag yesterday. The end was like a wrestling match. I temporarily forgot how hard it is to turn those straps inside out. I ended up taking out a couple stitches on the end, snaking a thin ribbon inside and then sewing it back up. That helped quite a bit since then I could pull the ribbon to help work it through.

Also if I make another one I would not have the jean seams go all the way to the edge. Or if I did that maybe use a bias tape of some sort along the edge so that I'm not trying to turn it under after sewing. That was difficult. But I got it done!

I used this fabric I had in my stash. It was hemmed so I think it was previously a table cloth or something. 

Keeping that bag for myself :) I like it :)

For dinner last night I made some easy enchiladas. The filling on the side fell out when I tried to get it out of the pan so I just plopped it on the plate. They were yummy.

I went to bed between 7:30-9 three days in a row now lol. Last night it was 8 when I sat down again and I was like well it's too late to start a project! Might as well go to bed. I don't necessarily fall asleep right away or stay asleep but I've been waking up earlier so I probably did sleep more haha.

Trying to decide my next project. I had a bag of what I thought was batik scraps but it turns out they are jelly roll strips. Going to try and do something with those mixed with some denim. Looking for some pattern ideas on Pinterest. 

That car I liked sold yesterday so that was a bummer. Scott still wants to drive an Explorer but those seem to be about $10k more than the Traverse and that's a lot. 

One more day of work then it's my long weekend. Woohoo

Good morning happy Monday! If Mondays can be happy. As usual I laid there thinking maybe I should just call into work today lol. But I got up. It's going to suck when we have to start going to the office on Mondays (starting the 27th). The one good thing about Mondays being an office day though is that most of the holidays land on that day.

Yesterday morning I worked on my jean upcycling. I got the body of a bag made with the seams on one side and scraps on the other. I just need to make a lining and sew them together and it will be done. Saving this for myself lol. 

If I make another one I will sew across the seams horizontally also to help them all stay together. Things I'm learning as I go. I've had to add extra stitching to areas that came apart while I was working on it.

I had to stop for the kids coming over. They had fun playing until about 8 when Rosie was ready for bed lol. Nate took 5 steps between Scott and I. I thought for sure he'd be all out walking this week but maybe by next week.  He still loves his walker here for now because he can RUN. It's so cute when Daniel and him play together chasing each other.

It was cold here this morning. The heater has been on and Lucy was cracking me up rolling around on the floor. They are still laying in front of it. The best part about having a wall heater ;)

This week we have the 9th off for Jimmy Carter's funeral so I just asked for the 10th off too. Who wants to work on a Friday when you had Thursday off lol. My boss was off work for like 2 weeks so we'll see how long it takes her to get to my email. 

I have darts on Thursday. Probably watch the kids on Friday. 

Scott went to work today so moving his Mondays off to next week I guess. Updated my calendar AGAIN for what weeks he is off.

That's all the excitement here this morning. Maybe I'll finish that bag by tomorrow.

Good morning happy Sunday!

Yesterday Scott and I went and test drove two cars. I liked this Arcadia (the sales person said that was wax on the lower portion that could be cleaned off). 

But then we drove this Traverse and I really liked this one. It is bigger inside and the seats have more padding lol. Maybe we'll buy it. It's been on the lot 80 days so hopefully it doesn't sell while we decide lol.

In between those two we went to linner at this little hole in the wall place. It took forever to get the food and they said it was take out only at that time so we ate in the car. It was really good and I think they actually closed right after they gave us the food so that was the reason for the take out. I ate my last piece of chicken this morning lol.

After car shopping we went to the grocery store where almost all the fridge areas looked like this. WTH??  I think they must have been cleaning/reorganizing them since there was SOME food in there and scattered in different areas of the store. I didn't get a couple things I wanted since well there was none. 

After we got home I laid down on my bed and got up this morning lol. Really I got up at 11 and woke Snookie up to go potty outside then came back and went to bed again. I'll all stiff from laying in bed so long now.

The kids are coming over this afternoon while mom works so I have to run the vacuum and finish putting the groceries away. Another fun part of having a small house is trying to put all the dry goods somewhere.

Apparently Scott isn't doing his Monday off this week since he had Christmas off last week. What the heck. That shouldn't count as taking a day off. I swear he's just a workaholic.

Good morning happy Saturday from my bedroom buddies lol.

Occassionally Tina will come in and lay on the bed but not very often and Tubz never comes into the bedroom lol.

Yesterday the kids came over while their mom worked. Only took one pic of Mr Nate having some breakfast. I think Snookie ate more of it than he did.

After they went home I finished cutting up the rest of the jeans. I'm glad to be done with that!

I decided to play with the seams first. I got them all somewhat sewn together before the dogs said it was time for bed. I didn't do anything with the black ones yet since there aren't as many. Might just toss those.

I was thinking of trying to make a bag with them. Have to see if I have enough to make it work. 

But first I need to make a menu and a grocery list and then take a shower. We are almost out of TP so have to go to the store today lol.

Good morning happy Friday!

Geeze I'm having a horrible time this morning centering my text.

Are you tired of seeing denim yet? I'm almost done deconstructing it all.

I just have the last box worth of the upper parts of the jeans to cut apart (I had just cut the legs off in the beginning)

The top stack is 6" squares and there are quite a few of them so I am thinking I will make one more quilt with those. Possible cut the 8" ones down to 6" if I need more.

Yesterday I got the Christmas tree taken down and all of Christmas put in the shed. Plus the tables and chairs and outgrown baby bouncers. Go me! Also did a bit of laundry but have to work on that some more. Of course after it's all done I found a few things on top of the fridge so might have to take those out and put them in a box (bags for cookie giving). 

I vacuumed the house and sorted the kids toys out into 4 little bins I got at the dollar store. Daniel is probably not going to like the doesn't have one big bin to dump on the floor lol.

Dinner last night, chicken and rice with some corn and peas since that was the only vegetable left in the freezer.

Today will probably be a long day of babysitting once the kids get here. Their mom has a dr appointment later today too. She has my car since her battery was dead this morning so the kid will have to be delivered once they all wake up.

Hopefully Scott can help her with the battery tomorrow.  Sunday is babysitting too so we'll have lots of kids time this weekend :) Definitely need to go to the grocery store soon. I ran yesterday on my lunch and just got coffee and cat food. Almost out of TP now!

Good morning happy Thursday! 

Apparently one of the office bosses is back from vacation today and finally reading emails from like the whole month. Here I thought today would be quiet lol.

Yesterday I finished the denim quilt

Sadly the flannel pilled up a bit so I ordered a sweater shaver to clean it up a bit. Haven't used one of those in forever. 

I spent the rest of the day cutting down the leftover parts for one of the boxes. Two more to go!

But I have to put away the Christmas stuff today since no one is on the couch for the day and go to the grocery store since we are out of coffee (THE HORROR) and dry cat food. 

Poor Snookie someone is always stealing her bed. I am going to go to Wal Mart and get a couple more I think.

Hello happy New Year!! Welcome 2025!

I worked on my denim quilt all day yesterday. I am almost done. I tried to arrange the colors in a bit of a pattern

I sew a row at a time and I come back to see this. Little helpers...

I almost made it to midnight but I got done cutting around the edges and Snookie was like Mom I'm so tired why are you still up lol

Trevor rode his motorcycle to work yesterday and then for the first time ever met up with some people after work. At a bar. So Scott was up at like 2 am putting his clothes on to maybe go get him but eventually he came home. Dang kids making us older by the minute.

My house is starting off 2025 with a mess. I guess Scott didn't make any resolutions to get his clothes IN the basket. Don't mind my floor still waiting 2000 years for Scott to fix the back door in my room so we can move on to flooring...

Once I get done hyper fixating on this denim quilt I will put away the Christmas stuff and clean up. The kids will be here on Friday and Sunday this week so I need to get the crap cleaned up by Friday morning for sure haha.
