Good morning happy Leap Year Thursday! 

There is rain in the forecast today and all weekend. Boooo.

Yesterday I worked on some of my fabric sales and then made a cake, cupcakes and cleaned up the house.

We went to Texas Roadhouse for Trevor's birthday dinner. 

Here is his first legal drink haha. Beer. Yuck.

They almost got us all on one table. 

Nephew Tony, Trevor's friend Chloe, Melissa, Mom, Me, Scott, Trevor and Daniel.

Eric had to work and my dad wasn't feeling good.

My dinner minus the sweet potato they forgot at first. Oh and a salad. Yum.

Little Nate got to come to dinner. The bigger littles stayed home with their Aunties.

Eric came over to the house after work for cake and ice cream. Simon wasn't sad. Simon was having a great time being the center of attention until the littles showed up haha.

Good morning happy Wednesday and Trevor's 21st birthday!

So crazy this little fuzzy guy is 21 already. Baby Nate has hair like his :)

Tonight we are going to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and then we'll come back home for cake and ice cream. I still have to make the cake so should get on that soon lol.

Yesterday after work I went to Joanns to get some backing fabric for the quilt I'm working on. Sheesh so expensive even though it was "on sale". Everything is on sale so you can't use their coupons lol. I went to the one in Modesto and it was pretty clean and organized compared to the Manteca one. Although they had huge piles of fabric in carts to put away. 

After that I made my $350 purchase at the grocery store. Only bought like 2 packs of meat too. So much for raising minimum wage now everyone can't afford to eat or drive their cars (or pay rent or utilities either). 

I went over to take the kids a few things and played with the grandbabies. They are so cute! Makes me feel bad that they cry when I leave but at least I know they like me haha. 

Relisted the fabric yardage I have left on the Facebook group yesterday for a dollar less a yard and got some claims so I need to measure those out. Sold some 1/2 yards and fat quarters too! Woohoo. I have to get that all cleaned off the kitchen table for tonight. 

I finally figured out how to run some sales on eBay and have been doing 30% off on patterns. I've sold a few the last few days which is great! I think I will just keep doing that and maybe even 40% since I was hardly getting any action on them. Gotta move this stuff out ;)

Good morning happy Tuesday!

Made it into the office today. We'll see if I have enough to do to keep me busy most of the day. I don't think so lol. I saved some stuff I got asked to do for today so I'd have something besides mailing out two letters. The way they have things running now it's just like a trickle all the time instead of a huge project at a time.

My lovely little Simon. I mean "Trevor's" little Simon lol. She's so funny this morning she brings in her empty food bowl. I'm like would you like me to refill that? She's probably sad since I'm not home and Trevor was sleeping, so she's not outside. 

Today after work I have to go to the grocery store. The fridge is down to condiments and 2 oranges lol. I think a bag of potatoes too. Trevor made one of our Hello Fresh meals that got delivered yesterday at like 4:30 since we were both hungry.  It was really good.

Yesterday I got the remaining fat quarters from my fabric flipping stuff ironed out and put on the FB group for .75 each. That finally got them moving. One gal bought $100 worth, about 1/2 the pile of fat quarters. Woohooo! Today I think I will make one post with all the ones left. Maybe make them .50. I still have a 1/2 yard post and a yardage post too. I have a ton set to wash that either had fading, stains or I wanted to keep them.  I got almost all the laundry done yesterday so I'll get those washed tomorrow probably. 

With all that fabric I still need to stop by the fabric store on my way home and get some backing fabric for the new black and white quilt I'm working on. Of course nothing I have works or is enough fabric. 

Ok well back to work! Tomorrow Trevor will be 21 how crazy is that?

Good morning happy Monday as Mondays can be ;)

Yesterday I went and met up with my old friend Joanne and a coworker friend Carolyn. We all used to work together at one point. Joanne moved back home to Minnesota several years ago. 

We met up in Rio Vista. I don't think I've actually ever stopped in Rio Vista before. It is about an hour away. We ended up eating at Lucy's Cafe because it was one of the only places open past 2pm lol. The town is a bit of a sleeper. 

 

I got the chicken parmesan which was good but not like the best ever. The garlic bread I ordered as an appetizer was the star of the show. 

After we ate we walked around outside a bit. Carolyn had her dog Clara (she hung out in the car while we ate) and so she was fun to have with us.

We ended up going into a little museum mostly because that was all that was open haha. It was cute and your typical small town museum. We hung out and talked after walking the 2 blocks of downtown for a bit. 

After I went home and then got in the truck with Scott and drove 1/2 way back to take the daybed back to my mom. Look at the roots of the tree in her front yard. So crazy. Glad we got that dropped back off to her. 

In the morning I worked on listing some more fat quarters on the FB group and it was complete crickets. No one must have been in the mood to buy this weekend. I have one more stack to iron out then I'll be through all the boxes. 

Today work is pretty dead. I need to do laundry so I guess I should get on that. I have to go into the office tomorrow. Finally not coughing much so that is good!

Good morning happy Sunday! 

Sadly this is not a 3 day weekend :(

So we went over to mother in law's house yesterday. Look how nice my brother in law has a little bar set up. Who looks like they are making themselves at home NOW? Funny how he has all this time he can spend there now that my mother in law isn't there. It's a lot more fun when you have a girlfriend with you and you don't have to take care of a 90 year old woman.

We got a truck load of stuff from there, most of which was the daybed that we took over there and my mom wants back. Just got some random things. Hard to see what you want when it's all taped up in boxes. We did open a few looking for things and found them so that was good. I will be glad when this whole thing is done and finished with and we don't have to think about these people anymore. Just nice memories.

I spent a bulk of yesterday listing fabrics on the FB group and got CRICKETS. Oh well at least they are all cleaned up and organized. I can repost them again later. It's a hit or miss on that group with how much competition you're getting for people to see your posts. I have about one more round of going through stuff/posting and then I will have done a little something with everything. 

I got one round of the new cat quilt sewn.

Scott made us our Hello Fresh dinner. It was really good. We should be getting a new box on Monday with 3 more meals. I haven't made any of them yet haha.

Scott got Jessica's car fixed up yesterday so we took that over to her and got to snuggle the baby a bit. The big kids were having a play date at their other grandpa's house. 

Later today I'm going to go to Rio Vista to meet up with my old friend Joann and another work friend Carolyn. I think maybe we're having a late lunch? lol. Still working out the details. 

Washing all my bedding AGAIN since Snookie peed on the bed. She hasn't done it in at least a month. Probably my fault since I didn't take her out for one more tinkle before bed. I thought it hadn't been that long lol. Oh well I hated the fitted sheet that was on the bed anyways. I need to buy some fresh sheets. I hate the cheap ones I got the last round they are some gross blend or something. Probably going to have to just bite the bullet and buy something a bit expensive to have something nice that stays on the dang mattress. 

Think this morning I'll work on that last batch of fat quarters to sell!

Hello happy Saturday!!

The kids came over yesterday for a few hours. 

Trevor and Daniel played together quite a bit. That was nice!

We ate a whole box of Chex Snack Mix between the 4 of us lol. Time to restock.

They were pretty good and we all had fun! 

After they left Trevor went to work and I did all the dishes, cleaned up the living room and made dinner. Then I ate dinner by myself watching Crossroads on Netflix while I waited for Scott to come over. He had stopped over by his mom's house and was surprised to find out that his brother and his girlfriend (not his wife) had boxed up the entire kitchen and a bunch of other stuff. His brother let her put some stuff online to sell too. Hmmm. So then of course I was like what was her name? This gal is 37 and dating his almost 70 year old brother. So gross. I found her multiple Facebook profiles with listings of stuff from my mother in law's house on Marketplace. Lovely! A lot of it is junk but why was this stuff not offered up to us first? There's a few things listed from the yard I am going to go get today if we go to town. I know everything is junk to him and he has no sentimental value to anything unless it was his dads. Jerk!

So anyhow, that's the fun around here :) Scott is fixing the alternator in Jessica's car. I think he might be done now. Good for another 20k miles ;) Poor car looks like hell. She can't really drive it much now anyways since she can't fit 3 car seats in the back seat.

I need to figure out what I'm doing with myself besides obsessing about dumb shit that doesn't really matter in the big picture today. I should put up some more fabric. I think I will work on ironing out another 50 fat quarters! That will keep me busy.

Hard to believe Trevor is going to be 21 in 4 more days. My baby is definitely not a baby anymore!

Good morning happy FriYEAH!!

Boy did I know when that prednisone shot wore off yesterday. Wooowee. Back to coughing and my hip hurting lol. I didn't take any of my prescription meds until late afternoon yesterday and only took the antibiotic since I wasn't really coughing. MISTAKE. The pharmacist had said not to take prednisone before bed so I ended up taking it at 2am. I did not have insomnia after that haha. Trying to not really take that since I know it's not that great for my body but it sure is nice to not cough my head off (and everything that goes with that). 

Did you see the whole IVF thing in the news today?!?! Well lookie there. If we can't play God with women's bodies we can't play God in a lab either I guess. I was so shocked last week when Jess told her her STATE APPOINTED & PAID Dr could not prescribe her birth control because was Catholic. What the actual 1945? What is this world coming to? 

Anyhow since no one can afford groceries it seems like a great idea for God to just have women spitting out babies left and right.

Thankfully I got my tubes tied before we reverted to the dark ages.

I finished my Black & White Cat Quilt yesterday. No cat faces since that is what the customer asked for. Luckily she liked it! 

Now I'm making another one with funny cat faces for fun. I got all the squares cut out so far. Now to sew them together. 

I've been washing the fabric yardage that I'm keeping. It smells so much better. I'm thinking I might just toss all the fat quarters and 1/2 yards that I haven't put up for sale yet into the washer on delicate. Really leaning towards that. Then maybe I'll do the larger yardages later too if they stick around. I haven't listed anything for sale for the last few days since I felt like poop.

Yesterday our hot water heater pilot light wouldn't stay lit. Luckily Scott figured out that one of the hoses? was leaking and putting the light out. He got it all fixed up last night so YEAH I can take a shower. I need to do that in a minute since the kids are going to come over while the baby goes to the Dr. Apparently taking 3 kids 3 and under places is a lot of work ;)

Good morning happy Thursday!

Yesterday I went to this new to me Urgent Care. I had done all the stuff online so when I got there and I had to give them all my cards again I was like ??? why did I waste my time doing that? They just need to see them in person I guess. Yep looks the same as on your website where they will live forever now. 

Then they had to escort me out the back door so I could move my car over and they could come out now fully gowned to give me a covid test (after they had just walked me out not fully gowned). Negative then come back in the back door but stop I have to have a mask, so I had to pay $1 for a mask. I was like it would be nice if they'd tell you all this info before you come? I was a little grouchy with the girl and of course felt bad after since she looked like she was 12. 

The Dr came in and listened to my chest and said I was wheezing so she gave me a shot of prednisone and an antibiotic shot. Holy hell those hurt. I felt it all the way down to my knee. I got three prescriptions and was on my way for the same price as going to the regular doctor.

After I went to the post office and it took me two trips to take all my stuff in to drop off. Then I went to the pharmacy and went in fully suspecting that they wouldn't have my prescription but all but one was ready. I went to the bathroom and came back and they were all done. Amazing.

While I was at the Urgent Care my mom met me in the parking lot to drop off this Meow fabric that she had ordered that finally showed up. I had to take 6 blocks apart to put it in. The things I do for my mother lol. Last night I got all of them sewn together so now I just need to lay them out and start assembling the blocks. 

Trevor made us another Hello Fresh meal. This was his bowl looking all pretty. It was good but this morning my stomach is acting up again so not sure if it's from something in there or not. Maybe too much oil or something.

Lucy filling up the dog bed. She loves this thing. She's in there again this morning. 

I'm off work again today which is nice so I can go lay down and take a nap. Yesterday when I got home I laid down and napped on and off for three hours. I was awake this morning from around 3:30-4:30. Then of course Scott was up and not too long after so never fully sleeping for much after about 5. 

Apparently our hot water heater is tired again already and wouldn't stay lit this morning so now we have that to deal with. We bought an extended warranty on it so I need to dig that out and see if it's actually good. Hopefully I can find it. If not that's probably like $1000 to replace now. Stupid CA making them cost 2x the amount. 

Got up and there was so many dishes I boiled some water and washed them all. So at least that is done for today!

Good morning happy coughing Wednesday! Ugh

Made myself an appointment at an Urgent Care this afternoon. Figured I'd try that since my doctors office doesn't even want you to come in if you're coughing. Like how you going to hear my chest through the phone.  So that's at 11. Still need to go to the post office so going to do that while I'm out.

Yesterday I put black and white squares together for my next rag quilt. They are ready for their X to be sewn through them.

I'm about ready for a nap and I just got up. I think Nyquil gives me a hangover feeling. I took a Covid test yesterday and it was negative so that's one virus I don't have.

Good morning happy Tuesday!

Well not too happy since I'm cough cough coughing my head off again. Wouldn't be as bad if I didn't pee myself constantly when I cough. UGH so annoying!! TG for pads or I'd just have to sit on the toilet all day.

I was supposed to have darts tonight but had to get a sub and changed my training for tomorrow to one on the 5th but now I have to go to Fresno (yuck).

I spent most of the day yesterday cleaning up my sewing room a bit. Then I got about 50 more fat quarters ironed and listed. I think I have claims for 3 lol. After I get through them all I think I'll take whatever is left and make them in sets for the next round. 

Simon is outside until the rain comes later. This huge storm we had has been nothing but a little rain. Everyone got excited for nothing lol.

Oh I started cutting out my black and white fabrics for some rag quilts last night too. My mom's friend wanted a black and white with some cats but no cat faces (weird lol). So I'm going to make one like that and one with other cats for my booth and/or maybe one with no cats depending on how many squares I get out of my stash lol.

After I get my morning stuff done today I am going to work on ironing more fat quarters so I can get those up. Eventually I'll run out of them. If only they had all been 1/2 yards like the lady said they were when I bought them. 

I got my Hello Fresh order yesterday. I am going to do that for a bit again so I don't have to think about what's for dinner for awhile lol.

Good morning happy President's Day from Julie Coughington!

Yes once again I'm coughing. So annoying!! Hopefully it doesn't last forever again. Someone sent this to me last night, it's so pretty. 

Yesterday I took all the fabric off the bolts (originally I thought maybe this is why I was coughing, maybe it still is?) I measured it all except the ones I am keeping for now or that had issues. 

I think I will take a bunch of these to work with me and toss them in the dumpster. Maybe all of them.. Hopefully I'm not coughing my head off too much and can actually go to work tomorrow and the big meeting on Wednesday in Davis. I don't want to have to drive to Fresno later if I miss it. That's a LONG drive. 

Taking up a lot less space this way. I think maybe I have enough totes in the shed to use. Need to go out there and look. I also had 2 more claims so need to pull those out and pack them up.

Still need to finish ironing/going through the rest fat quarters and half yards. 

I wanted to serge the edges of the fabrics I was keeping before I put them in the washer. My serger came unthreaded and OH BOY was that not fun. I had to do a You Tube video to figure out what I was doing wrong. Who ever designed these was an idiot. After a lot of cussing and digging out better tweezers and using my phone as a flash light I finally got it going.

I have one basket full in the washer I need to go change it over and then the top part of this basket. The bottom has clothes in it. Scott finally unpacked his suit case that was full of dirty clothes.

Tomorrow I need to take these to the post office too. Hopefully I'll have a few more. I think I'm down to one person who hasn't paid yet from the other day.

I think I'll participate in this challenge!

I made stew and cornbread for dinner last night and took some over to Jess. I used my big pot instead of my usual one and I could taste the difference lol. I used to have 2 of the ones I use but I gave one to Jess. Might have to get a 2nd one again for cooking larger quantities. Funny how you have to have the "right pot" for making stuff.

Last night I was dozing and Jess called that Daniel had taken her car to town and it had died. Scott went to go see (luckily it was on the long road to where we live) and it took THREE HOURS for a tow truck to come. So ridiculous. I think he said it was the alternator. He just replaced that in the other HHR we have so maybe it will be a quick fix. He was super tired this morning and left for work late.

Simon is outside for now since it's not raining. She was so happy when I took her out there and ran around zooming lol. Looks like we have a chance of rain at noon today then lots of wind and maybe a tornado? We'd be f*cked for sure if that ever happened.

Ok off to figure out what I'm doing today. I'll start with some more coffee.
