TGIF!

Happy Friday! Work is so boring today, all I have to work on is these old files I've been working on all week. I'm tired of working on them. No one is ever going to look at them anyways, I'm just doing extra stuff for busy work.

Today Scott and his friends are off to Colorado for the annual guys weekend to hang out and watch the Super Bowl. I hope he has fun! He hardly does anything that doesn't involve us or work so it's good for him to have a guys weekend. Yesterday he went and got a hair cut, new pants and shoes. I was like do you have a new girlfriend? Guess hanging out with the guys is worth getting cleaned up haha.

Not sure what my plan is for the weekend. I was hoping to work on organizing my new book shelves I bought for myself. But WHOMP WHOMP I bought the wrong size! They were like 1/2 the size in every direction of what I actually wanted. I put one in the craft room to see if I could "make it work" and it was a no!

My friend bought one off of me and a girl at work said she'd buy the other 2 so I'm not out money TG. Still haven't bought the ones I want yet. Thinking I might just go look at actual stores instead of online and get them that way. That way if they turn out to not be what I want they are easier to return.

I cleaned up my craft room a little bit yesterday. I had a bunch of crap that had got tossed in, so got that cleaned up. I am probably going to work on sewing some more of the zip bags this weekend and do a bit of Etsy listing (maybe). We'll see! Saturday night I'm going to my mom's for dinner but other than that it will just be me and Trevor home alone all weekend.

This morning I paid my sales tax for 2019. I really need to stop being lazy and collect sales tax at my booth events. Going to have to break out the cash box and get change. The extra hassle is worth not losing a couple hundred dollars in bottom line profit!

Nothing too exciting has happened all week. Bunco Monday night (didn't win anything), and last night we hung out at the bar for a little bit but that's about it.

I did make a couple dinners

This chicken recipe was the bomb, I will definitely make this again. Horrible picture, I took my good light into the craft room lol.

I've made this soup a million times. It's a crock pot/Instant Pot recipe but I almost always end up making it on the stove.

Last night I made this meatball "casserole" and Scott kept saying how good it was. Definitely no left overs of that! I did add some cooked pasta shells to the bottom of my skillet before I put it back into the oven. I'd have to buy a lot more meat if I didn't include a carb of some kind for my 2 big guys.

Etsy was slow all week but I finally had a few sales. Someone bought the 2nd pattern here on the top row through the last pattern on the 2nd row. It came up to over $35 so Etsy's "free shipping over $35 promotion" came in play. So I had this sheet that weighs over a pound, 2 patterns, a couple small books and a big heavy book to ship for free. I got burned a bit on that one. I ended up sending it in 2 packages so it cost me over $10 to ship with the "cheaper" ways.
I've had that sheet in my store forever and I was going to take it out and just cut it up for fabric but forgot. Oh well live and learn!

Need another day

Well I could use another day to the weekend. Unfortunately that wasn't possible. I wish I could just take every Monday off!

Friday night Scott and I ended up going out to dinner to Sizzler and getting the salad bar. That was nice. I of course had to have some clam chowder and some nachos to go along with my big salad plate. Oh and dessert too of course. I always get their apple crisp stuff and put some vanilla ice cream on top.

Saturday I sewed all day. It was glorious. Scott spent the day frustrated trying to get Trevor's truck to start. The truck apparently has some kind of weird security feature that is tripped and he can't get it to reset. So basically you can't start it for more than like 2 seconds and then it turns off. Looks like we'll have to buy some parts to replace the security system next.

Right when I was getting ready for bed he started having another AFIB session. He refused to go to the ER (he's already on all the meds they give for that) so I went to bed. Last time we went they just hooked him up and went yep you have AFIB. Eventually it stopped and we went home. Thankfully it stopped eventually this time too, although I think he didn't sleep well.

Sunday morning we had breakfast and I was making my grocery list when Scott's mom called and said she thought she was having a heart attack. Good God call 911! She didn't want to of course. I told Scott we could call but he was hesitant so we just got in the car and drove to her house (we live at least 15 minutes away driving over the speed limit).

We got there and she was in her chair shaking a bit and then she said OH GOD THERE IT IS AGAIN. Scott was like what's it feeling like and she's then calmly tells him. So we get her up and into the car and to the hospital. They did an EKG and then when they poked her for the IV her palpitations stopped. They said she was having supra-ventricular tachycardia, so similar to AFIB but a different area of the heart.

We then spent HOURS at the hospital waiting for something I don't know what. They did blood work and a chest x ray and that was ok. Then her blood pressure was pretty low so they gave her a bag of IV fluids but it still stayed low and they were like ok well sending you home. The RN was very expressive about her not taking her high blood pressure meds that night and to call her doctor to maybe get them adjusted.

After we finally got her home we went and did her grocery shopping (and my partial list, luckily I use Google sheets and could bring it up on my phone lol). Had to take that back to her house and then I went just a little bit later than planned over to my friend's house to watch the Grammy's. She uses the record feature so we were a bit behind the real show but pretty much caught up with it by the end after going through the commercials. I think I only missed the red carpet part.

Some of the acts were certainly interesting.... Others were really nice though.

So what did I sew this weekend? More of the zip bags (I cut out a million I think lol) Saturday I worked on butterflies, lady bugs, bees and insects.

and then a dog and a cat made it through from the last batch. The dog one I did some piecing (love doing that kind of work!).  Not sure why the cat one didn't make it in the last round.

I started working on foxes and frogs but didn't get them finished. Close though! I thought I was going to get them done on Sunday but maybe tomorrow night. Tonight I have Bunco.

I sold a bunch of cheap stuff on Etsy this weekend. I have my Etsy store clearance on 50% off so some of it was that. After renewing 4 times I'm going to start pulling them out of my regular inventory and bundling them in larger lots I think. Maybe just do a big flat rate box and put them on eBay just to get rid of them and still make some money.

Kind of funny that I sold 3 cross stitch items (all different buyers). The Airplane book and the one to the right of it (they are paper puppets) were on eBay. The book I got from the church sale so basically free and the puppets I bought at the flea market not that long ago for $2. I didn't know what they were but thought they looked interesting. They are from some kind of learning program that was on cassettes and VHS. Someone knows what they are!

Here's to a fun productive week with no more hospital visits please!

Another night out

Well 2 nights now of no cooking! Yesterday I had to pick Trevor up after school so we just went to In & Out for dinner. After I got home I went to bingo and actually won 2 games. We hung out afterwards until almost 10.

On my lunch yesterday I went to the thrift store and bought a ton of sewing patterns. Someone definitely cleaned out their stash. Sadly I got charged double what I usually do and didn't realize it until after I had left. Oh well it's all in the wash I guess since some places hardly charge anything at all. I just need to make sure and pay attention next time.

Hopefully I'll stay home and be domestic after work today haha.  Although I am going to have to go by the grocery store and buy some more cat food. With four cats we are going through A LOT of cat food.

Also no eBay or Etsy sales yesterday so that's sad.

Lazy evening

So tired tonight. I got nothing accomplished! After work I went to the gas station, then ran into the store to get a couple things for the soup I was going to make. My friend texted me when I got home and said come hang out at the bar for a bit so I did. I was only going to stay for a little while but ended up staying until after 8 just hanging out. I only had a soda and ended up getting a quesadilla so that was dinner lol. No pictures even what a bad blogger.

I sold a few things today. I had put a few books on "auction" on eBay last week when I was sick and 2 out of three of them sold. Just for the starting bid price but hey they were pretty much free so that's $20 I didn't have before (before fees so about $15 lol)

It was like book day because I sold 2 more books on Etsy.

Ok I'm going to bed "early" it's almost 10pm so not really early. So exhausted today. On the plus side I just took my blood pressure and it was 120/69 so way better. Still waiting for my blood test results to come back though. I'm hoping I can see them online without having to get the results from the doctor. One can hope!

Sewed Away Monday

Ahh it was a nice day home. I didn't use the steroid inhaler this morning but I think I will use it before bed. My chest is feeling a little tight.

Here was my little helper from yesterday and today. Usually it's her sister that hangs out with me but they traded. Tiny Tina isn't quite so tiny anymore.

I spent most of the day sewing up more bags. Got all the "bird" prints done.

Next I'm going to work on butterflies, lady bugs and bees. I think there's a couple more random insect prints in there lol. I cut all these out awhile back so it's just assembling them.

Sold one more item (as of 9pm)

I watched the weirdest Joaquin Pheonix movie today called The Master. So so weird.

I also watched Julie & Julia, love that movie. I looked up the Julie gal and I guess she wrote a 2nd book but then people didn't like it because her and her husband both had affairs or something like that. Might have to check it out for curiosity sake.

After those I went back to watching You Tube people. Less to think about lol. There is this one You Tuber named "Taco Stacks" and he basically drives around wasting gas to trash pick. In today's episode he said he took the scrap to the scrap yard and got like $13. THIRTEEN DOLLARS. Gas is like $3 plus a gallon most places around here. Plus it was like 18 degrees and he got up before the sun. Seems like a total waste of time. This guy has 215 THOUSAND followers. I just don't get it. People send him gifts and gift cards. He just seems like a whiney guy to me but hey what do I know. These times are strange I tell ya. (I unsubscribed from this guy after awhile but his stuff still auto plays in my stream when I'm not paying attention and I'm too lazy to skip it.) Maybe I should become a You Tuber and you can hear me complain in videos. Would you send me Subway gift cards?

For dinner I made Turkey & Rice Casserole. We didn't have any carrots (didn't put them on the list because I didn't think someone was going to eat 1/2 a bag of carrots before I got to them), I used breadcrumbs instead of a slice of bread and I didn't have water chestnuts or tarragon (subbed fennel seed since that is what I could find for a sub online lol). I'm thinking it would have been a bit better with all the correct ingredients but it was ok. Oh and I added a bit of parmesan to the topping too.

The topping defintely made the meal. I need to start setting the table. We've all been eating in weird places. Would be nice to actually sit at the table and talk to each other.  Maybe tomorrow ;)

I have enough turkey left for one more recipe. I think I have 2 saved so I need to figure out which one I want to make. Should I make Turkey & Dumpling Soup or Turkey Corn Chowder? Both sound good to me! I'm glad the turkey is almost gone because I'm getting tired of it. Of course I had it for lunch the last 2 days too. Tomorrow I'll probably go out to lunch at work. I've got a hankering for a big delicous burrito.

Happy Monday!

The best thing about my job is getting paid holidays off! Scott had to go to work today so it's just Trevor and I here at home.

Etsy sales for the weekend

I woke up to 8 mug cozies being sold wooho. I have a sale for all "heart" cozies and that's what someone bought. (I put several together in one listing and then you can choose which one, That way I only get charged for one listing instead of 3)

I didn't work on my Etsy stores at all this weekend. Just sewing. I should probably book some craft shows since I haven't done that yet. Now that I'm back in the land of the living that is. Sheesh that was a rough one. Still coughing a phlemmy cough every so often but nothing like the pee your pants crack your ribs cough.

I finally finished sewing up all the Cat & Dog theme "sunglasses cases" which are really just padded zip bags. I usually sell a lot of them at my craft shows and I went through all my animal fabrics and cut things out and put the fabrics on the comic boards. I might have talked about that already though. Eventually I'll get a couple more book cases so I can get rid of all the plastic tote boxes I have my fabric in. That will give me about 12" more inches of room space too.

I also fixed my comforter that was falling apart. I felt like I should have just tossed it since it was bad but now that I've fixed it it's almost good as new. Good for a few more washings and winter lol. I keep looking for a new one but all the ones I like are super expensive which is stupid because the animals all lay on my bed and I have to wash them all the time.

 Silly dog

I cooked a turkey on Saturday. I always buy one when they are super cheap around Thanksgiving. I got tired of it taking up the freezer so finally thawed it out. So we had a little Thanksgiving like meal on Saturday

Turkey pot pie Sunday, and I'm going to make a casserole for dinner tonight.

Oh and I made turkey broth too :)

I watched a ton of Netflix the last couple of days.

Grace & Frankie
The Fall From Grace
Killer Inside The Mind of Aaron Hernandez

And Disney Plus (one of my kids paid for it so I got to use it lol)

Pollyanna  & Parent Trap (old one)
I wish they had the other Hayley Mills movies. I love Summer Magic and the Trouble with Angels but they don't have those on there.

Also a miracle happened! I got ALL the laundry done. So freaking crazy.  It's great not feeling like crap I tell ya! Well time to get busy and do some more sewing, starting with BIRDS today haha. Have a good day everyone!

It's Friday Eve

Who's excited for the weekend?? I know I am so ready to sleep in on Saturday. One more day to go.
I saw this car yesterday. Kind of hilarious. The only person I'm paying to pick up dog crap is my kid. Well maybe Scott if he'd actually do it haha.

Today at work I went and pulled out my left overs I brought for lunch. SURPRISE, that was the left over UNCOOKED ground turkey not the yummy cooked food I thought it was going to be. Lucky for me I had some other left overs still at work and ate those with my salad. Well not like I couldn't have went out and got something but I've been trying to not do that as much.

After work I went to the thrift store that has .10 books on Thursdays and .10 sewing patterns all the time. I spent $7.80 for a bag full of stuff. Not much to sell though.

Pretend this is sideways. I got a couple kids books to keep (I collect the I Can Read Books and I don't think I have the Whales one yet).

The fire cat! I already have this book but it's one of my favorites from when I was a kid so I couldn't leave it behind. If it's not worth anything for resale maybe I'll give it to my little niece.

Thought this old A's playbook would be some entertainment for Scott. He's snoring at the moment so we'll see what he thinks when he's awake lol.

Pretend this isn't upside down. I got a planning Creative Memories box with pages and page protectors! I have one of these boxes from back in the day when I sold CM. I keep picking up pages when I find them for "some day" when I get back to scrapbooking lol. I have a lot of stuff sitting in process and poor Trevor's have a way to go to get caught up. This was my big purchase ($6 lol)

A few patterns (the bag one is cut so that's for me to maybe make up)

I might keep these since they don't sell for much, 2 Stampin Up catalog/idea books (good for reference too). I also got 2 vintage pillow cases that need a little washing up.

Here is the lace and pattern I got the other day at the little thrift store for $7 and some change. Not sure how she came up with the total since I thought the lace was $1 each but it's all for charity so whatever lol.

Here is what I sold the last 2 days on Etsy. Not big sales but sales of any kind are still good.

For dinner tonight I made this Skinnytase Crockpot Chicken Taco Chili but on the stove and with ground turkey since I forgot to put the chicken on the grocery list. It was super spicy. What's up with all these over spiced dishes lately sheesh. I had to add some sour cream to tone it down a bit. I also made some more cornbread because you have to have cornbread with chili right?

Ok I did all my to do's for tonight. I'm going to go lay on my bed and watch some more Grace & Frankie. I thought I might have finished it last night but I still have several episodes to go. That's what happens when you take fancy cough syrup and fall asleep lol.

Made It Through

Made it through almost a full day of work today. I say almost because I went to get lab work done this morning and missed the first 1 1/2 hours of work.  I'm pretty sure it's just going to come back that I like ice cream too much and have ate my stress for the last 2 years.

Yesterday I went to the doctor and since "I" pointed out that every time I go there I have high pressure I am now on high blood pressure meds. (It's high at home too). I'm past the point of thinking I'll just lose some weight and into the realization that I don't want to stroke out. Really I'm just hoping the buzzing in my ears goes away. They have been doing that for quite awhile now and it's really annoying. I've been doing better about eating out (and hey I haven't went to the bar at all since NYE since I've been sick lol) so I think that's the first baby step to losing some weight.

And back to ME pointing out that I have high blood pressure.. I'm thinking maybe I should get a new doctor. Like wtf why aren't you even noticing that it was high when they took it? Also he kind of scoffed at me when I mentioned that my daughter did 23 and Me and it showed we have something genetic. He scoffed after the "23 and me" part, before I even got to what it was.  Apparently he doesn't hold any stock in DNA tests that show you have genes that can cause issues in your health?

Anyhow, I also left there with a steriod inhaler, fancy cough syrup that has a label saying I might become an addict if I drink too much of it and a new regular inhaler since the one in my purse expired in 2015.  I think the steroid inhaler is helping a lot. Still coughing but not as much.

I spent pretty much all morning before my appointment listing things on Etsy & eBay. I only had one sale though. 3 Barbie Patterns. I'll take it!

After the Dr I went to Goodwill which they have rearranged into CHAOS with narrow aisles in the hardgoods section. I didn't buy anything. I took the chance and went to see if this little hole in the wall thrift store was open and it was. I ended up buying some lace and one craft pattern for $7. It's out in the car though so no pictures today haha.

I WAS going to make dinner but I got sucked into CHEER on Netflix. I just clicked on it thinking it was probably some teeny bopper movie and I ended up watching all the episodes (ending at midnight-yawn, I fell asleep a little a few times lol). It was so good! I have a new found respect for the big bow athletes!

Scott ended up making dinner when he got home. I forgot to take a picture since my friend Cassi dropped by right when it got done. We had pork chops and scalloped potatoes. I just realized I left a couple of items off my shopping list but I think it will be fine since I have been thawing out the turkey I had in the freezer. Time to get that bad boy cooked up (Saturday) so it will stop hogging all my freezer space haha.

Ok off to read a couple blogs before I drag myself into the kitchen to make dinner. Cya around!

Another sick day

Well I have a doctor appointment for later today. I was going to go to work in the morning but I'm just so exhausted. I think I'm out of sick time after today (until next pay period then I will get 3 more hours.) It's super fun when you're at work and everyone is telling you how horrible you sound. I KNOW.

I didn't do anything exciting yesterday other than cook dinner and list a few things on Etsy. I sold these 2 items yesterday. I just listed the little book over the weekend so that was nice it sold. There was some that went for more on the Ebay solds but mine had a little bit of damage to it. Totally happy for $20 for a little board book! I picked that up at the flea market awhile back.

For dinner last night we had beef enchiladas. I just used some canned enchilada sauce but they turned out ok. I'm liking the I make a list and Scott does the shopping for the last two weeks but I already know I need to be really specific and you know, add extras I'd just grab like bread to the list. He's so funny he will buy exactly what's on the list and nothing extra.

Finally made a salad. Yeah! Green stuff.

Oh and today is my mom's real birthday. She has now the oldest of the last 3 generations before me. My Grandma died when she was 67 and her mom was only in her early 40's. There's hope!

Weekend Recap! Thrifting, Etsy Sales, Mom's Birthday, Food & Sewing

Well it's Monday again. Booo!!! But I had a pretty good weekend even If I was still coughing. I'm going to throw a party when I'm not coughing anymore!

Friday I went to the flea market on my lunch. I got what I thought was a nice crisp vintage table cloth for $1 but it's a repro, still cute though :) And a big box of rubber stamps for $10. There are some really large stamps in there that I can probably get $10 each for so that was a good find. I have quite the collection of stamps that I need to list somewhere. I will probably put them on Etsy since I seem to have better luck for crafty stuff on there.

Also check out my $5 lunch. I barely ate any of the noodles and rice and was stuffed. The chicken skewer things are so good. I think next time I might just get one of those and some noodles.

After work I went over to the dollar store to get some little baskets. I've been working on doing a little organizing here and there. I cleaned up the 2 kitchen drawers and used a few baskets in the bathroom and my bedroom underwear drawer too. Not sure how long the drawer on the left will be like that I need a bit more room for the long utensils.

I thought I was going to sew all weekend but I only got these 3 bags finished up. I have a whole stack of cat print bags that just need the top stitching by the zipper and then to be sewn around the edges.

I cooked Friday and Sunday dinners. Saturday we had dinner with my family at my brother Joe's house for my mom's birthday. We had some nice Chinese food! No pics of that though.

Friday night I made Baked Garlic Parmesan Chicken. There was a lot of grease in the pan which kind of grossed me out. Probably won't make that one again.

Last night I made the "Flu Fighter" chicken noodle soup since I'm so sick of coughing and it sounded good. I may have ate way too much garlic bread.

My brother Joe lighting some candles for my mom. He just put a random amount on there and it was still a big flame lol. She will be 68 on the 14th.

My cute kitties who helped me work on my projects this weekend. Tubby on the left and center (she loves that cookie bowl and has a feather from a feather duster) and my overly expressive faced Lucy on the right.

I was trying to do my "list 5 things a day" rule for myself this weekend but then ended up just spending ALL DAY listing this and that. I also pulled a bunch of stuff that wasn't worth listing and put it in my thrift store donation boxes. I'll probably take those tomorrow.

Here is what I sold on Etsy this weekend. I just listed the Irish sweater pattern yesterday. I got that in a big box of old knitting patterns at the flea market for $10 (for the whole box) I think a month or 2 ago. The doll and coat patterns were either .10 or .25 cents each depending on what store I bought them at, the Doily books I've had for awhile and paid .10 each for. The needle book I've had for awhile also. I got that in some stuff off Marketplace I think, and I sold 2 mug cozies for $5 each which is funny because I had put those on sale LAST week for $2.50 each.  I've had those for over a year now so it's time for them to clean out!

Hopefully this will be the week I stop coughing! No plans for tonight other than to make dinner. We'll see what I end up getting into.
