I can see! And wear sunglasses!

ok ok Lens Crafters doesn't suck TOTALLY. I went in and got my contact lens trials and the only thing that was bad was the long wait. Three o'clock appointment and it was about 4 when I got out of there. The fancy eye doctor didn't send over the report on my eyes and the LC guy was like "did they do a lumbar puncture". Oh God no they didn't. I'm thinking he really thinks I have MS. Please God let the fancy doctor be right. Now I'm still a bit nervous for when I go back to that place.

In the mean time at least now I have some lenses to wear and a prescription to fill. It was nice of him to give it to me while I was there so I don't have to go back "unless they aren't working". I think I'm almost used to the new prescription. Both my eyes are different scripts again so that means $$$ since I have to get the stupid Toric lenses. Why can't I have nice normal body parts?

I've been trying all week to get my big stack of mug cozies that I have been working on FOREVER finished. I finally got them all done last night but I was too tired to take pictures. I have a small bag I want to try and get done (started lol) tonight so I can have it done for the train guys at my craft booth tomorrow. They have a business with trains in their logo. One of the guys asked me to make this bag like 2 craft shows ago. I had cut one out with newer trains but then I found some nice older train fabric.  Back to square one on that one lol.

I also have been meeting with the car guy a few times. He wants me to make some grocery like tote bags and then his design for a little duffle bag/man purse. Aye yi yi. I picked up a pattern similar to what he wants so I can follow the steps to make it even if I don't use the actual pattern. I'm not that good  that I can just whip things out lol.

So tomorrow I'm doing another craft show at the same place. I never unpacked/repacked my stuff from last week. The tables and tent are even still in my car. I did get Scott to bring my totes in the house for me though. I was going to do an inventory of everything on paper.  Going to. Yeah. So maybe I'll either do that tonight or tomorrow when I'm setting up. That might be easier. There are usually some slow times that I can do that.

I walked down to the flea market for lunch today and bought three large bags of fabric/trims/someone's handmade cards I didn't see in there for $15. I then had to carry all that back to work. Next time maybe I'll drive lol. Although part of the reason I walked was to get more exercise. I just got a new Fitbit to motivate me to get off my duff a bit more. I definitely got my exercise carrying those bags back!

LensCrafters Sucks

I don't know why they make it so difficult to get contact lenses. I was liking going to LensCrafters but after my current experience I'm never going back.

First the Dr freaked me out telling me I had swelling in my optic nerve but wouldn't tell me what he thought was causing it. He looked into my eye was like "oh that's not good" and then had me go sit out in the waiting room Googling "swelling on optic nerve". So according to Google I have MS, Lupus or Diabetes. Then the girl working there took pictures of my eye ball and I had to go back out to wait. He took me in and I stood holding my purse while he showed me pictures of my fucked up eye and a normal one. Awesome. Like can I have a chair to sit down in while you're telling me I'm dying? He refused to tell me what he thought would be the cause of this optic nerve swelling but assured me that it was any worse he would have sent me to the ER. He's just giving me an URGENT referral to go see a Neuro Opthamologist, ASAP! He tells me first thing when I get home I need to find one that my insurance covers because this can get very expensive.

Oh and then to add to that they don't have any trial contact lenses for me to try and will have to order them.

So then I go up to the counter to pay and they are like it's $110.00. I was like oh I have insurance did you bill that? Last time I was there it was $5 for the same exam minus the pictures of my eye ball. They are like no that's with insurance. So I'm trying to figure out exactly what they are charging me for and the girl is like CREDIT OR DEBIT. I'm like I'm sorry but I'm trying to figure out why my bill is so much and also I'm a bit upset since I have something wrong with my eye. None of the three girls behind the counter seemed to care (where did that nice girl go that helped me when I came in...). I eventually realized they charged me $69 for my toric contact lense exam (not sure why they couldn't just say that) and the rest was for pictures. So last time I was there they must not have charged me that on accident or something. Ok so I pay my bill.

Text Scott and my Mom that I'm dying and have MS and cry in the car. Get my shit together enough to start driving home, but we have nothing for dinner so I decide I'll go to the Wal Mart/Safeway shopping center. You have to make a U-turn to get into the shopping center and I saw Jessica's car at Denny's in the same center. I pull up next to her and she asks if I'm tracking her (lol) and I tell her I'm dying and have MS. She gets in the car and tells me she's sure I'm fine. They always freak you out at the dr etc. TG the kid can calm me down. After that I decided we'd just have Taco Bell for dinner. While I'm in the drive through my mom is googling about how I'm dying also and says "I don't like what I'm reading". Yes, I know mom! Scott texts me that it could just be sinusitis and I decide that has to be what it is since I just had a sinus infection a couple weeks ago.

I get home and research neuro opthamologist on my insurance website. The only thing that comes up when you put that in is a pediatric one. That won't work. Then I search opthamologist and a bunch come up. Grr which one do I pick?

In the morning I call my regular doctor and ask if they have any recommendations. She first says no then I'm like what about just a regular opthamologist and she tells me one that the Dr goes to. I call that one and they tell me they should have sent reports and referrals to like UCSF. Uh yeah freak me out some more. I was like can I just get a regular appointment and then if I need it you can take care of that? The first appointment they have is 6 days away. Doesn't really seem very urgent.

So I call another one and ask if they know of a neuro opthamologist and they tell me 2 names. One is a woman that mostly does botox? The other one I saw on my insurance. Ok here we go. So I call them and they can get me in for 3 THAT DAY. Now we're talking. I had to drive to Stockton but that's ok my mom lives there and she's meeting me there for moral support.

I get my eyes dilated and eventually the Dr comes in to blind me with a really really fucking bright light in my eyes. When he's done he says that he sees what the other dr saw but it's not what he thought it was and it's nothing to worry about. Thank you God I'm not dying and I don't have MS. They scheduled me another appointment in May to do a regular exam I think and then a follow up one two weeks after that.

In the meantime I still have no contacts. I've paid $110 plus a $40 copay and the 2nd place and no contacts. I call to find out when they are going to get the "trial pair" in and the gal tells me it takes a week OR LONGER. I was like WTF you are LENSCRAFTERS don't you have your own warehouse? I can get just about anything from Amazon and sometimes it's even in the same day. Where are they coming from a slow boat from China?

Today they call and tell me that my trial lenses are in but they can't give me an appointment to come and get them for another week. I was like OH NO. If you can't get me in I want a refund. So I have an appointment for tomorrow at 3. Lets see how much more bullshit I have to go through to get my prescription. I already know they are going to make me come back after a week of "trying them" to get my prescription even though I've been wearing almost the same contacts for 20 years. Such a racket. Such a waste of time.

Melissa's Birthday Dinner

Before I get too far behind I need to post Melissa's birthday dinner pictures :)

As usual she wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse. After last year I kind of kept it on the down low and didn't invite extra people since it's so hard to get a damn table with a large party. Jessica had to work so it was just the four of us and Melissa's friend Ricky.

I did the call ahead when we got in the car and we only had enough time to eat a handful of peanuts before we got a table. That was nice!

This kid can't take a serious picture

I had the steak kabobs for the first time and they were really good! I'll probably get that again next time I go there (probably for her birthday next year haha)

After we got home we had smores in the backyard. Hard to believe she is 19 already. Her last year of being a teenager!

Craft Booth Saturday

Yesterday I did another vendor and craft show out by the movie theater. I thought I had a great spot but after awhile I decided it wasn't so great since a lot of people stayed on the main walkway instead of turning to come see my booth. It's ok though I think I did better than a lot of people. Surprisingly I only sold two mug cozies all day though!  I think I am going to do the same place again next Saturday but they in a different spot!

Part way through the day I moved some stuff around and hung up a clothesline to hang my wine cork keychains from. I sold a couple of them after doing that so it worked! haha. I got the idea from a crafter gal I know who sells jewelry. She hangs necklaces up that way.

The gal set up next to me was super nice. She's a direct seller for some fancy jewelry. I had fun talking to her all day.  I was so tired when I got home. Funny how just standing and sitting in a booth all day can be so exhausting!

Easter Recovery

This week I haven't done much but work on my mom's curtains. She had a woman recover a bunch of her furniture and make her some valances. When she got them back she was upset that the woman didn't line the ruffle part and somehow I ended up being voluntold to fix it haha. I told Scott "my mom is going to owe me big for this!" He's like well she did give birth to you. Yeah yeah. I had put her off on fixing them until "after Easter" so I guess that was this week. It took me 2 nights after work to get them done but wooho they are done now.

I don't think I shared my little wreath I made when I was procrastinating cleaning before Easter. It's just a bit of the leftover fabric from the chair covers I made and some dollar store flowers. I had had this hard foam-like wreath kicking around my room so I used that. I'm pretty sure I had picked that up at the dollar store too. I think it turned out cute for only spending a couple bucks on the flowers.

I seem to be into yellow right now. Well not as much as my neighbor though.

I noticed she got a new shed yesterday when I left for bingo at like 6:00pm. Some time between then and this morning she painted it yellow. Her house is like a mustard yellow color so I think it kind of matches that. I wonder if she'll paint the other shed to the left. The red building to the right is actually a garage for the next door house. The man that owned that died and his son owns it now. Supposedly someone is buying it from him. I keep hoping they will paint it. A nice color, hopefully lol.

Easter Part 2

Ok Easter morning we slept in a bit and then it was go time! Clean clean clean. Totally went with the "good enough" cleaning since it was so nice outside (minus a little wind).

The bouncy house I ordered came around noon.

Then Scott went and got his mom and sister around 1:30.

Everyone came around 2 and I was still trying to peel the GD eggs that didn't want to peel for deviled eggs. Always the way!  I was so glad when I was finally done with those. I forgot to take a picture of the food table.

Scott's mom with a few grandchildren and greats :)

and with Scott and his sister

Sister in law Suzie rocking the hula hoop

my cushions I covered late Saturday night :)

Cake for all my kids since I owed Trevor one and he didn't have a party.  His bday is 2/28, Melissa's is next week 4/8 and Jessica is 4/29. Usually Easter falls in between the girls birthdays so we always just make it one big family party/Easter so everyone doesn't have to come over 3 times.

After all the family left we had big kid time with the new fire pit we got

Nachos!

Stayed up way too late but it was a fun busy day!

Easter Part 1

Well I survived Easter but just barely. I'm so sore and tired today. Still need to clean up the dishes in the kitchen and pick up outside. Brace yourself for picture overload
lol.

Easter started on Friday night with the egg stuffing party at the club house.

Saturday morning I was laying there thinking of all the stuff I had to do so I got up and just got to work in the yard. My little helpers..

Then I had to take a break and run to Costco to get nacho stuff for the kids for Easter day since that is what they always want. Trevor went with me and we picked up Robert to take him too. I had told my mom I would take him down to the egg hunt. So we did a super quick Costco run and then onto the egg hunt down at the campground. My friend Dee brought her 3 boys too. I can't post pictures of Robert face since he's technically in foster care :(

My friends granddaughter had a booth to get donations for the heart association, how nice was that!

This dog was so cute chilling it it's pool while kids ran around. I've never had a dog that was chill like that lol.

After the eggs I came back home to work on getting the ready for the party. I made potato salad, 3 little cakes and cupcakes. Why is it when I'm going to cut up the eggs they peel perfectly?

At around 10 Jess said she'd come over to dye eggs (melissa had to work til 9 so wasn't home til later too so we had midnight egg dying by the time we were done.

Rusty wondering wth we are doing up so late for lol

and I'll put the rest of Easter in another post since this one is so long already!
