Spur of the Moment CROSS COUNTRY Road Trip Day 1

Jessica decided to move back to California last week. I flew from San Francisco to North Carolina to drive home with her.  I got there Friday March 31st and we left Saturday night for our big drive. (I now also know what it is like to have to RUN across an airport to make your connecting flight, not fun!)

When I got there Jess still needed to do some packing so I took the car to go get the headlight fixed and went to a couple thrift stores (of course) haha.

This is the view from the car place, NC is so pretty. Changing the headlight on an HHR is quite the experience. I paid $40 something for someone to change it because they had to take off the whole tire to get to where you change it. Stupid planning on that one.

These candles at a thrift store cracked me up.

We finally got on the road around 5 on Saturday. This was our first stop for the night. We did the cheap hotel route this time.  Did you know that Motel 6 doesn't even have shampoo in the rooms? Good thing we had our own. The room was clean at least :) At night I would send Scott a screen shot of where we were staying in case someone killed us in our sleep or something. Yes, sadly I think that way.

  1. I used to tell my step daughter when she would ask why we needed to know her where abouts or where she was going. I used to say so I can tell the police the last place the body was supposed to be at.
I was mean like that. But seriously these things are important. I think what you did was perfect!!

NC look a lot like here. It is pretty. I bet that was a fun drive - I'm sure it made for more posts too. yipee.

When I had my corporate job I would run to make my connection in heels - so it can be worse...just sayin'
