Last Friday Scott and I went on a date night. It was about time because I almost forgot that I still liked him haha. The stress of working full time and everything else going on sometimes makes it difficult to connect with each other. We went to sushi and then while we were there we tried to find a movie that we wanted to see. The movie theater is in the same little shopping center as sushi so that works out great for date nights.
The sushi was good but the kids waiting on us were just bizarre. The one guy was like "oh you aren't ready for me to take your order? That's good because I'm not very good at it." uh ok. Whatever happened to TRAINING DAYS. The girl that was waiting on us wasn't much better. We go to this restaurant all the time and I'm always surprised at some of the crappy reviews they get on Yelp but then maybe they went on waiter novice night lol.
We finally settled on seeing the Sandra Bullock movie, Our Brand Is Crisis, since it was one of the only ones playing before 9 (I can never stay awake at later movies).
After we were done eating we had a little bit of time to kill so we walked down to JC Penny's to get Scott some new jeans. At his old job he just had to wear a uniform so no only having two pairs of jeans that kind of fit wasn't working out too well. He's an odd size so it's really hard to find jeans in his size "off the shelf" but we lucked out and found four pairs that worked. Then we went and stood in line.
There were four people working the registers. Two of them were doing returns (what ever happened to the return counter?) and the other two were dealing with "savvy shoppers", one of who had their whole order re-rung and then had their card declined. While we were waiting one of the return people were finally done and we started to step over and the guy says "sorry I'm off". Scott and I were both like "remember the days when they waited on the line and THEN they were off?" I know when I worked retail that was definitely the case. I would never have left a line like that. I wonder if they teach their employees to clock out "on the dot" or if they teach them "customer service 101". I'm guessing the cheaper one.
So after shitty customer service we walked back to the movies and got a jug of soda (which you can conveniently get yourself (one more person they don't have to pay for and/or teach customer service skills to). The movie was interesting but probably would have been better on Netflix.
We finished the night off with a night cap at our little bar. Yeah for date nights!Pin It

Happy Tuesday!
We got a nice surprise today, we got to get off 2 hours early! Tomorrow is Veteran's Day so this is to help celebrate or something. I don't know but I'll take it. I thought about going to do some shopping but remembered that Trevor got home early today (conference week) so I came home. When I got home he told me I was early and how he wished he had more time alone. Alrighty then. Gotta love kids.
Oh I also came home because my eye was bothering me. I slightly remember the dog scratching me in the eye some time last night. Now I'm hoping I'm not going to end up with pink eye. Mostly because I have some insurance but it's not the one I have a card for and I have no idea what it is. The stupid place has not sent any insurance cards yet. I'm sure I will get them in time for my other new insurance to take over.
So anyhow, last weekend was fun. We had Ava's 4th birthday party. I can't believe she's four already. The party was at a gymnastics place, which the kids LOVED. The little kids that is. My kids just sat in the audience with us and waited for it to be time to go to the party room for presents and cake. It's so weird to be taking little almost adults with you everywhere.

Blowing out her cupcake. Was kind of weird how they did that towards the wall.
Trevor getting attacked by his adoring cousins
Emma and her Grandpa Howard
Me & Emma
Melissa & Emma, Emma had to eat the ice cream all on her own. She pushed my hand off when I was trying to help even lol
and presents time!
After the party we went by Home Depot to buy some drywall supplies to fix a whole in the living room wall that SOMEONE made when they threw their backpack against the wall. $35 later not counting paint...
Then later that night we went down to the clubhouse for the Chicken Dinner fundraiser the Car Show committee was putting on.
I was kind of sad when I got my plate.
But it wasn't really all burnt, it was just the skin. The guy that cooks it does "Cajun style" but I think this was on the extreme end lol. The potato salad was really good though ;) We hung out for a couple hours then came home since we'd had such a long day.

Happy Halloween! Part 2
After the Trunk or Treat we went home for a little bit and I changed my costume for the "Bar party". Melissa went to her friends to hang out and Trevor went to my mom's to go trick or treating with his cousins so Scott and I were free for the night!
I had a ton of fun and actually won "sexiest costume" lol. Who knew? Spent the night dancing and hanging out.

This was hilarious. They ran in and attacked the girl sitting. She's the other girls mom.
Candy anyone?
Crazy cat lady
all the snacks
Scott in his racing suit
This gal is so funny, she loves the show Sharknado. The shark on her shirt is like half a stuffed animal poking out.
I danced until the party was over and then came home and passed out lol

Happy Halloween! Part 1
This year for Halloween I helped put on a Trunks, Trailers and Treats event down at our little club campground. This is the first time we've done this out here so it was a bit of a learning experience, but we ended up with a great turn out!
We met up earlier in the week to stuff some gloves with toys and candy for the kids.

We started off with some donated latex gloves but they were too small and the kitchen had these simple ones that worked much better.
It's a tradition to have a parade here and there is always someone leading it. My parade pictures are really crappy because my phone hates flash pictures. Next time I will take my "real" camera for night pictures.
Blocking off the street into the campground to start the parade
Love this picture even though it's blurry. My friend Traci starting the parade with the little ones. We did the parade by age groups. Originally we were going to do prizes but decided to just hand them the goody bags instead. Probably would be better to just have one long parade next year.
My friend's husband Tom got voluntold and he made this great light up wand.
This is the back of my car. I took our pumpkins down there with battery lights in them.
and here are some pictures in the daylight before it got dark.
Traci pulled this wagon around with popcorn in it lol. She's so cute.
They did some crafts here, I was supposed to help but I bailed. I never do that!
A good picture of my costume, it was a fun one!
Scott with our car
I wish this was a bit clearer, I love it! The "spooky tree"
This is actually my friend Ginny, she made the robe out of a thrift store blanket!
I made about 60 little baggies of candy and we ran out at the end. Next year I guess I'll make more! It was so fun to hand out candy to the kids because we live out on the edges of the club and usually only get like 2 trick or treaters. I usually only buy one bag of candy "just in case". This was way more fun!
