Before 2013 started I joined a challenge on Lose It to log in every day for the whole year. At the time I was like, eh sure I'll join it. BUT I have not missed a day and the year is almost over.
It's little things like that that help keep me motivated. Even if I have a bad day eating wise I still log what I ate. It's a good habit to be in and doing it every day sure makes it a habit. I know myself and I know that if I do not keep track of what I am eating I will be 204 pounds again. It doesn't take much for that to happen as I've done it a few times in my life.
Today I went to visit the page and saw that there was a new challenge for 2014 to join. Log every day of 2014. Sign me up, I'm in!
With only a couple weeks left of 2013 the resolutions are being thought of. I know I made my resolution to lose weight over and over again. I know it's cliche but it's really a great time to make that turn towards being a healthier you. A clean slate, a clean year, a new you.
I'm playing around with some ideas in my head to challenge myself. I guess these aren't really resolutions but more "challenges" to myself.
1. Possibly try doing the Whole 30 for the month of January. A friend of mine put out that challenge. It sounds really difficult for me though so I don't know if I'm just setting myself up for failure thinking of doing that if you know what I mean?
What I like about this is that it would cut out a lot of junk that has snuck back into my diet and might quite possibly help me to get to my goal weight. Also? I can find everything I need online and for free and it's all real food, nothing that's a gimmick or going to hurt me.
What scares me? Being limited on what I can eat. Like today, we are going to a birthday party where there will be pizza for dinner and cake. Pretty sure those are not on the plan.
Also, would I have enough energy for running and cycling? I need to read up more about that.
2. I'm still going to run one race a month. I just need to pick all my races. I thought I would just run the same ones I did this year but the one I did in January last year is now in February on the same day as the February one from this year. Way to screw up my plan.
3. Biking events. Part of me would like to go back and do that Monster Ride again. I feel like it owned me and I would like to own IT. That would require a lot of time on the bicycle in the hills training though. I would not go into that blind like I did last time. I don't know if Scott would be up to that for awhile yet though so this might have to go to 2015.
4. Run the whole half marathon in March without walking. It is at a higher elevation though so I don't really know if that's possible. I guess I need to find somewhere around here that is not flat and go there and train.
That's all I have for now. How about you? Do you have a resolution or challenge for next year?Pin It
