Oh furlough, I have you to thank for allowing me to take my husband to his daily blood draws while he's wiped out. I guess I should thank you for that. Thanks.
We went this morning and I studied the "if you don't have insurance you must pay up front sign". Then I handed over the insurance card and hoped for the best. I guess we'll know soon how much those cost. He has to go every day for awhile. YIKES.
Yesterday I received my little unemployment paper that I had to fill out saying if I worked, looked for work etc. I mailed it off today so I think I might get a check next week.
After Scott's vampire session I ran in the grocery store to get a few things for dinner and that we were out of ($70 cough cough). Then I had to get gas.
We are so lucky we really don't have tons of bills. And that our little house is paid for. So many times I've lusted after a bigger house in town and I let my conscience talk me down.
You don't need a bigger house.
We fit just fine.
Everyone ends up in the living room anyways.
Smaller PG&E bills.
The area we live in is so nice.
If anything happens you will have somewhere to live.
Yep yep yep. You can have your big fancy houses, I'm fine RIGHT HERE.
(Where we live is a private club and you cannot get a bank loan on a house because the land the house sits on is owned by all the members. For this reason houses usually go for a lot less money than a house not in the club. We were lucky enough to buy our house for $20,000 20 years ago. I call this area kind of like a trailer park with houses to give you a simple way of how it works)
In other news my last full load of laundry is in the dryer just hanging out waiting for me to go take it out. It's a miracle, the laundry is CAUGHT UP.
Better mark that one down in the record books. I do however have a sink full of dishes again. One thing about being home is that I feel like I'm always cooking something and making a mess in there.
--------
We've entered depression mode. Is it time for me to go on my run yet?

20k for a house??????
That's a car.
Looks like you're going to work tomorrow or soon!
Wow...$20k for a house?! And just 20 years ago? That's amazing. I don't imagine I will ever know the feeling of having my house paid off, but I can imagine how refreshing that is when you come into unexpected money issues (you know, like when the entire U.S. gov't just shuts down).
