Still Swimming

Hide-he-ho neighbors! (anyone out there actually old enough to remember that show?)

Today ended a very good day.

I started my morning by turning off my alarm clock and sleeping way too long. No early morning c25k run for me.

I did try a protein drink for the first time this morning. I had picked up two individual packets of Lean 25 Protein from the GNC store the other day.  Yesterday I got some unsweetened almond milk and some frozen strawberries to mix it with. It turned out pretty good. Not like, oh I so can't wait to drink one again great, but I didn't gag either. The good thing about it was that I never really got hungry all day. Which really, is awesome! That was the vanilla flavored one. Tomorrow I will try the chocolate one.

Did the work thing, and drove to lunch (too hot to walk). I got a Southwestern Grilled Chicken Salad from Jack In The Box. My new fast food lunch food.  Oh and those raccoons got down on their own some time during the night so I didn't have to worry anymore about someone "helping" them down with some bullets.

For dinner we went out to Mexican Food. I know, not the best diet food but I had been craving it all day long. I think my body needs the extra fat in it. At least that's what I'm telling myself haha. I'm sure the scale will be the judge of that.

After it finally started cooling off a bit I got suited up in my double sports bras and a tank, my new phone arm band, running shorts and NO DOG and took off to do my c25k. I didn't get very far before my phone started acting up. I had to restart the program a couple times and I had to keep messing with the music to get it to work. I did run all the running sessions with no problem and wasn't too tired when I got home. Maybe it was those extra carbs? No idea. I still don't like seeing people I know out in their yards while I'm running by but I just tell myself it's ok, I will just be looking hot and they will all be jealous

Instead of trying to take my own picture tonight (to share on my workout group on Facebook) I had Melissa take one with my phone. I look pretty awesome I know.  At least I look like I have boobs from the front view. Looking down it's not too exciting.

Trevor was sad that we didn't go ride bikes so we went out and rode around one lake in the dark. It was REALLY dark even though there is a full moon. Kind of weird. So we stopped at the one lake. I really need to invest in some headlights for our bikes.

Well hopefully tomorrow will be my last day of working full time. Scott says he is going back to work tomorrow. I'm so done with the full time thing. My kids only have one more week off of school and Jess moves in 22 days.

  1. Hey I added vanilla in my protein shake but then I didn't use almond milk either. The diet I was on called for either water or cream. Only protein. I loved 'em. Like a vanilla shake and not at all chalky. Try a different brand too that could help.

  2. Oh and put in some ice cubes when blending and it's more like a frappaccino.

  3. I can't run with our dog either. My husband doesn't understand why not, because he loves taking her. I cannot have that kind of distraction though -- I just need the "me" time! So Ruby has to stay home!

I hate when I see people I know (especially students I have in class currently or have had before)... but then I think about how I'm out bettering myself and they usually are just sitting in their front yards or driving around town...

  4. I am a big believer in morning protein shakes. Get me through most of the morning without needing anything else. I use a chocolate kind and add half a frozen banana and flax seed with ice and water. It is creamy and delicious!

  5. On the boobs thing. Since boobs are fat, when you lose weight your boobs get smaller. Just basic science. I'm sure Scott doesn't mind.
