Mom's 60th Sock Hop Party

For my Mom's Birthday party I decorated Coke glasses from the dollar store with a piece of rick rack and the cute little printables I got bought off of Etsy. I just used hot glue to tack them on. They came right off when I washed them after the party but stayed on during the party.

I got a few records from the thrift store by my work and used some of those mini coke glasses, some gorilla glue and rick rack and wahhhlaaaa cake and cupcake stand.

(I decided to list this on Etsy since I am done with it, go check it out :))

I also melted some records to make record bowls. I said I was doing this on Facebook and someone got all upset saying that there are shops that collect records. I made sure to check that all these records weren't worth anything before destroying them. I suggest you check "completed items" on eBay to make sure they aren't highly collectible. All mine had plenty going for a dollar. This was the best out of three.

I got this idea off of Pinterest, hanging hula hoops from the stairs when you first walk in.

My sister in law's house has a bunch of hooks hanging over the counter, probably from a pan rack or something. They worked great for hanging balloons from.

I'll show you the actual party tomorrow!
