Yesterday was absolutely beautiful weather! Right after I got home from work I went outside and didn't go back in until I was totally beat!
I mowed one side of the house. I can't believe how fast the grass/weeds grew. I know it was only a few weeks ago when I mowed, if that. The mower was low on gas so that was all I got done. Plus it was rather warm and it was kicking my ass!
After that I moved onto planting the alyssum I bought before our big ten plus days of rain. I got most of that planted, although I have a bunch of seedlings that were coming up in the rocks and bricks to replant if they are still alive. I might have to get a bit more to finish up my borders.
While I was out there I could hear Trevor in the house FLIPPING OUT. I went in and he was beating up my computer desk because the game he was trying to play on the computer wasn't loading fast enough for him. I turned off the computer and told him he was done. Why not go outside? It's so nice out! I told him he should come out and help me. He didn't want to at first, but eventually came out and helped dig some holes. Then he got sidetracked playing with the dog. THEN he decided he wanted to ride his bike with the dog. He tied Rusty's leash up to his handle bars and they ran/rode away. Three times around the block and they were both exhausted! Good exercise for them both! I think Rusty will need a harness if they do that much more though, can't be good for his neck pulling on his collar.
Jess got home from practice and said she needed new contacts. I told her to take my Costco card and go get some. Her and Melissa did just that. It's so nice not to have to stop what you are doing to drive kids all over! Of course I worry a bit the whole time they are gone, but I guess we have to let them grow up a little at a time right?
I'm glad our dinner was in the crock pot. All I had to do was make the pasta and warm up some veggies. I made Angel Chicken.
Although mine was made with cream of chicken soup instead of cream of mushroom because oops I bought the wrong one. I also just used a little water instead of wine since I didn't have any. Scott thought it was tuna casserole and said it even tasted like it a bit. I've never ever had tuna casserole. Is that weird? He said his mom made it, but his sister made it really good. I'll have to have her make it for us one of these times when she is visiting.
So today's agenda?
Work-blah
Play in the yard-YEAH
Dinner?
Sausage with Peppers and Pasta
Are you ready for the weekend? I'm going to some Tea place up north with my sister in law, her mom, my mom and maybe my other sister in law if she is feeling good enough to go. I guess we are going to eat in a tea cup. Luckily they don't move like the ones in Disneyland! Sunday is book club, which I'm sure will be full of gossip like usual. I'm just glad it's at someone else's house.
Hopefully I'll have time to work out in the yard too!
wow, you've never had tuna noodle casserole? Not a fan favorite but made it in home ec with potato chips crumbled on top. :-)
ReplyDeletewe're having left overs tonight. I made a roast with roast potatoes, carrots, onions etc in an awesome wine sauce/gravy yesterday. There are only 2 of us and we have an enormous amount left. So this will be left over for awhile of sandwiches etc for hubby.
have a great weekend.
why do you do the yard work?
ReplyDeleteis it because you love it?
Just curious as to why your hubby doesn't..
It's the only thing mine does ..LOL
Ew tuna casserole. Actually I'm anti-casserole with just about all of them. Never been a fan of cream-of-crap soups and almost every casserole calls for them. The picture of what you made though looks yummy and very un-casserolish. (o: Bravo on doing so good with making more meals at home!
