Quick Trip!

Friday afternoon Jessica, her friend, my mom and I went to San Francisco. Jessica and her friend were going to a concert so I decided last minute that we should just spend the night to make it more fun! So we drove there and stayed at the The Westin.

We stopped in Pleasanton on the way and had lunch at Mimi's. That's where Megan pulled out her dorky 3D glasses and they popped the lenses out of them. They wore these for most of the weekend!

We were supposed to have a room with 2 queen beds but they said they didn't have any left so we got a room with one king and 2 roll aways, which was fine! They gave us a room with a great view.

The girls had such a great time playing in the window.

We had a little bit of time to get situated in the room and then we went and dropped the girls off at the concert place which was at The Grand Ballroom. They had strict instructions to stay right at the building at all times!!

Mom and I went back to the hotel and dropped off the car and then walked around the shops a bit until we got tired and then went back up to the room. The girls called not too long after that to go pick them up. Went and picked them up and went back and dropped off the car again and then walked around a bit looking for something for them to eat.

We just went back up to the hotel room after that and the girls played in the window, had a snack and we watched some TV for awhile until we all dozed off.

This morning everyone slept in and I watched a few Christmas movies until I couldn't take it anymore and got up and got ready to go. Everyone finally got up and we checked out and then went down to Macy's to eat and then walked around and did some shopping although I really didn't hardly buy anything. We finally left the city a little before 4 and were home not long after 5. It was a nice mini vacation and now I feel recharged!

The Parrot

THE PARROT....................

A young man named John received a parrot as a gift.
The parrot really had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary.
Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with
profanity. John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by
consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything
else he could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary.

Finally though, John was fed up, and he yelled at the parrot. The
parrot yelled back. John shook the parrot, and the parrot got angrier
and more rude!

In desperation, John threw up his hands, grabbed the bird, and put
him in the freezer!

For a few minutes the parrot squawked, kicked and screamed..... then suddenly

there was total quiet! Not a peep was heard for for over a minute!

Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to
the freezer.

The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms and said,
"I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions.
I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions, and I
fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior."

John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude!

As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change
in his behavior, the bird continued, "May I ask what the turkey
did?"

Bolt in 3D!

Melissa, Trevor and I went and saw Bolt in 3D today. It was AWESOME! It's the first kids movie I haven't started to fall asleep on in a long time. We went to the new movie theater they built not too far from us. It's really big, nice and clean and no spit wads on the screen!

The whole shopping center is new and has a big Bass Pro Shop. We went in for a few minutes to pass some time before the movie started. I promised Trevor we'd go back with quarters to do the shooting arcade. I totally didn't think I'd like that store but I can see myself wandering around in there for a few hours. Although I could do without all the dead animals. I hope they are fake but something is telling me that they aren't!

Sunday Post

So I've really been sucking at blogging lately. Nothing really exciting has happened here besides not ACTUALLY dying from the massive cold I had. I still have an occassional coughing fit but I'm feeling MUCH better now.

Scott has it now. But of course he doesn't have it HALF as bad as I do. Which I guess is a good thing even though I was kind of hoping he would get it and be TOTALLY miserable so I could make mac n cheese and eat it in front of him and not give him any. ALL while watching stupid shows while his FAVORITE show was on. Yeah but he's not that sick. Darn. :snicker:

Sheesh, if you didn't know me you'd think I was a real bitch. Then again if you do know me you probably think that too. ::double snicker::

(not REALLY me)

So anyhow.

Excitement for the weekend. Saturday morning got up and went to yard sales. YES I was still kind of sick. YES I tried not to cough on anyone. I forgot to take some medicine before I left so I bought a little packet of DayQuil at Chevron. Along with a french vanilla cappucino and a bacon & egg biscuit. All for $4 something. Drugs, coffee AND food for the price of a Venti at Starbucks. Go me! Should have not got the sandwich thing though. One bite and ick. No thanks. I could go for some more of that coffee though. Ummmm yummmy.

Scored lots of cute name brand clothes at the yard sales! So many yard sales I actually got tired of them before I stopped finding them. The whole back of my car was full!! Hopefully I can sell it all on eBay lol.

Speaking of eBay,go buy some of my stuff!! I don't want to go find a job, this is way more fun lol.

Today Scott, Trevor and I went and ran some errands and went to lunch at our fave Mexican place La Villa. Yes we forgave them for the Birthday Party Disaster. We like it that much!

While we were there my cousin came in. This is my cousin that just got married but we didn't go. Mostly because well it was his 3rd time around and I kind of thought hey why not do something quiet?? Plus it was in April so we were super busy with Softball and me like, knowing I was going to get laid off and stuff. And really. I just didn't want to go. So there.

Anyhow, he stopped to visit for a bit. Was talking about my dad getting his finger smashed at work. No, didn't know, of course he wouldn't ever call ME and tell ME about it. I'm just his kid. (wow I'm really a whiner aren't I?). And then he was talking about how he MIGHT be a Grandpa. Because his daughter is PG but she might not keep the pregnancy because it wasn't planned and such. Yeah nice, he really told us that? If my kid was thinking of having an abortion I would so not be telling anyone. Especially while they are eating lunch at a restaurant. Sigh. Yep my family is a bunch of hicks lol. On the upside him and his wife just bought a house!

Didn't do much the rest of the day but play with my ebay stuff I'm working on listing and doing laundry and playing on the computer. Maybe something exciting will happen in my life so I'll have something cool to post.

OH yesterday I got a text from my soon to be EX sister in law. Opened it up and it said you've been flashed and had about 5 guys on it then it blinked and they were all naked. Just what I was expecting to see...

Feeling a little better!

Yesterday I was feeling a little stir crazy so I decided to go to town for a bit. I went to the post office, the library (found some scrapbook magazines in the sale room!), the thrift store and Wal Mart. I went to Wal Mart to look for these ball things Trevor kept talking about. I was happy I found them.

They had ONE for 4.99 or this 3 pack for $10.00 so I got one for him and one for my nephew. They were totally excited when I gave them to them and played with them all day.

Sometime this morning Trevor climbed into my bed and a little later I felt something. Realized it was his little toys lol. Too cute! Think we'll have to make a rule to only take one to school though. Knowing him he'd give them away because someone wanted one!

Husbandly Love

Yesterday evening I went in my room to lay down and read my book for a bit because I was so miserable. I nodded off a bit here and there. Stuffed tissue up my nose when I was laying on my stomach reading my book so that I wouldn't have to keep wiping it.

Scott came home, and as usual came through the back door, which is in our bedroom. He saw how miserable I was. Came over and offered to get me anything I needed. I opted for some chicken noodle soup and some crackers.

He went into the kitchen and made it for me, bringing it in on a tray,

fluffing up my pillows so I could sit up and be more comfortable.

He then went into the kitchen and made the kids dinner, and had the girls do the dishes.

At 8:00 he reminded me that the Biggest Loser was on (the only show I watch all week). He put it on for me and made sure the couch was cleared off for me to sit down.

Then he went and made me some coffee.

It was so nice to be taken care of! After the show was over he asked me if he could run some bath water for me. The tub was a bit dirty so he cleaned the tub out for me first. I soaked in a nice hot bath and then got into my clean nightgown and went back to bed.

Yeah.

Too good to be true isn't it!

How it really went down.

Scott looks at me from the back door "you sick?"

Me "yeah, I'm dying"

Scott walks into the living room and sits down in the recliner and turns on the TV.

Jessica "anyone want mac n cheese"

Me "meee"

::crickets::

OK no one heard me "meeeee"

I hear everyone eating their mac n cheese.

WTH?? None for me?? I get up, go into the living room and hear that it's all gone.

Me "nice, you could have offered me some!"

Scott "it's all gone"

Me "that really sucks, I make you guys dinner all the time and no one asked me if I wanted some"

Scott "Jessica made it"

I go over to the couch and push all the kids crap out of the way and humph when I sit down.

Me "my shows on"

Scott "this is almost over"

I go into Melissa and Trevor's room looking for the remote so I can watch it in there.

Scott "it's over now, here you can have the remote"

I warm up some leftovers from the night before I start watching my show. When it's over I go take a shower and go to bed.

This morning I get up to this:

Yeah.

Mom's aren't allowed to get sick.

I'm sick and a link

UGH. Sniff.

I'm sick.

It sucks.

Little kids are both home sick too although they don't appear to be as sick as me. One good thing about that is that I don't have to go pick them up. Since I never got dressed that's a good thing.

So I've been hanging out on the computer for most of the day. Since when I went to lay down for a bit I woke up and couldn't breathe through my nose.

At all.

How many cold and sinus pills can I take before I OD? I took 2 3 hours apart. I can almost breathe now. I hope to God I feel better tomorrow. My mom wanted to bring me something this morning if I need it. Think I'm going to dial me up some Diet Coke Delivery.

This sucks.

Highlights? of my day

I started off this morning at the usual time of 6:30. Actually I was awake at 6 laying there wondering why I was so wide awake. Anyhow got up and made Jessica a sandwich for her lunch and decided the little kids could buy hot lunch today since we had nothing to go with their sandwiches and we were out of grape jelly and Melissa will NOT eat anything else. (Really, I don't know how that kid survives with what she eats).

Took Jessica to the bus stop, came home, took a shower and spackled my face, got the little kids up, made them breakfast, took them to school. Then I went over to my mom's since we had a date for the dumps. Yeah. Seriously that's how exciting my life is. She got new mattresses and wanted to take the old ones to the dumps and I had an old box spring that needed to go so that's what we did. Some nice guy took pity on us poor women and threw them out of the truck into the big pit for us. So nice!

After that we went to McD's and had some nice greasy breakfast and then went to the grocery store, then home.

Then I mowed the lawn. I mowed the lawn because my hint to my husband that "if you're bored the back yard is starting to look like a jungle" just got a snort in respose. So I decided instead of feeling bitchy about it I'd just mow it myself. So I did. Then I came in the house and turned on the ac. In November. Ok only for a little bit until I cooled down.

Sat around and played on the computer a bit and printed off all my ebay shipping labels. Jessica walked home from the bus stop (whoops forgot that she got off early today) and pretty soon it was time to pick up the littel kids. Went and picked them up and attempted to get water but the water machine wasn't working. Came home and began working on hemming Jessica's dress for band.

Jessica is in "concert band". They were long black dresses that cost $50 and apparently come unhemmed, long enough for your amazon cross dressing man to wear. I spent 4 hours hemming that fucking dress today. FOUR HOURS. I hate that dress. I'm half tempted to MAKE her do band next year just to get my time back out of it!!

Picked up Melissa at 4 (I was still hemming the dress) from gate. Got water at the little store, bought some Diet Coke and Ice Cream since I'm sick and I deserve it. Came home and worked on the dress some more (hours 2-3 1/2). Made dinner (Meatloaf) and then took a break from the dress. Finally got up enough nerve to finish the dress (last 1/2 an hour on it). Then I was going to do the dishes but Scott made Jessica come out and do them since that was part of the deal for the Ipod. (yeah I'm that soft I was just going to do them myself).

Did a load of laundry and now I'm here. Whoop whoop. My life is so exciting! Scott got home from work at 7:30, ate dinner, played with Trevor for a few minutes on the guitar and now he's sacked out on the couch already.

Pretty sure he didn't even notice I mowed the lawn.

LET IT OUT

I've been thinking lately about how when I first starting blogging I'd blog about anything and anyone. It was LET IT OUT! It felt great! Anything I was thinking I would post about and not worry about anyone I know reading it.

Lately though, I've been holding back a bit. What if someone I know stumbles upon my blog and tells so and so what I said about them? Is it ok if I just change the names? If they read it they will still know it is about them. Hmmmm.

Then I think I should go by the old "if you can't say anything nice.." But that doesn't really work if the whole reason you started blogging in the first place was to LET IT OUT.

I think maybe I need to go back to the invisible way of thinking. Sure I might make someone mad, but if they really know me they will know how I think anyways right?

Hmmmmm

I can't believe it's been almost a year since my first post. I was really kind of pissed off that day. I was really LETTING IT OUT. I remember it felt GREAT when I hit the PUBLISH POST button.

I think I need to go back to being my true self in my postings and LETTING IT ALL OUT. It feels so much better to get things off your chest!

Field Trip!

Melissa made me go on her field trip today. We went to the Gallo Centerwith all the band and choir kids from their school. I didn't even know what we were going to see since I didn't pay attention when she brought home the permission slip. Turns out we were there to see craicmore which is an Irish/Scottish band.

The ride there was really loud since I had the school loud mouth sitting behind me on the bus. OMG did your mama never teach you "inside voice"? My ears were seriously ringing by the time we got there from her LOUD talking. And I knew all about how her dad and the neighbor guy got in a fight when their dog went over the fence and tried to kill the neighbor's dog that was tied up. "It was just playing though". Yeah right.

Anyhow, we got there and the bus let us off in front of the Gallo Center and there was a guy on the corner holding a sign that said Jesus is the Savior and something else. Guess he was feeling the love of God today.

Waited outside for awhile and then we finally got to go in and we were sitting in the 4th row from the stage so that was nice.

When they first started playing she was singing in Irish and 2 of the guys were wearing kilts so that got some snickers from the kids. Soon they all were enthrawled with the band while they taught them where the instruments came from the different types of Irish-Scottish music. They alternated between being educational and entertaining. It was really a great show and Melissa LOVED it. She was stomping her foot and clapping along with the music almost bouncing out of her seat. Gotta love 4th graders!

They closed the show off with the woman doing some Irish dancing to a "jig". That was great!

They said they are playing a show tonight, I'm sure geared more towards adults. It would probably be a really fun show to see. I just checked and they still have tickets available. They are $25 a seat though. Can't swing that right now.

After the show we got back on the bus, went a few blocks and stopped at a park to eat lunch. The kids all played on the playground while we sat around talking for about an hour. Then the ride home was much quieter, noisy girl was listening to an Ipod or something, thank God! Glad I got to come home for a little bit before the kids get out of school!
