We've been married for 15 years!
I thought I'd do a little reminiscing about our wedding.
My mom went with me "dress shopping". I bought the first one I tried on. I knew what kind of style I wanted and found it. Mom made me try on a second one "just to make sure" but I stuck with the first.
Originally we were going to get married on a ferry boat in Sacramento but when my mom called to book it it was all booked up! We had already reserved the hall for the reception so we decided to just do the wedding there too. And that is how we ended up getting married on a Sunday, on the D-Day Anniversary at the Elk's Lodge!
My mom's friend threw my bridal shower. (Guess my maid of honor, my best friend didn't think of doing it?). It was at my mom's house. My mom thought it would be fun to take the pictures with a poloroid camera so I'd have crappy pictures to remember it by.
We had a rehersal but no rehersal dinner (I think the groom's side is supposed to pay for that? and set it up? but we didn't have anything)
The night before the wedding Scott stayed at his mom's house. All his sisters families were there so I went there with him to hang out for awhile. Afterwards he took me to my Grandma's house and I spent the night there. That is where we got ready for the wedding in the morning.
My cousin was my flower girl and my mom's friend did her hair in rag curls. She was kind of freaking out about it when it was done but she got so many complements at the wedding she soon knew she was the star of the show :O)
We had a family friend for the photographer. He took these pictures in front of a big window at my Grandma's house.
Eventually we were all ready to go and went over to the Elk's Lodge. We posed for more pictures.
And then it was time for the ceremony.
During the ceremony there was a fly. It kept landing on me! It was on my nose for quite awhile. I kept blowing on it trying to get it off without too much attention lol. Then it was on my arm. UGH it was sooo embarrassing. I wish now that my mother in law's video camera had worked so we could have sent it in to funnies home videos lol. And see that pretty table cloth hanging on the wall? I don't know what the heck my mom was thinking when she did that. I still give her crap about it lol.
And then we were married!
We posed for family pictures. Here is Scott's family.
The cake was really pretty even though the woman delivered it on the wrong day, didn't do the layers the way I wanted them on the inside and used a little bit different colors than what I asked for. I still love my little cake topper :O) Scott was a good boy and didn't smash the cake on me. I had warned him ahead of time of certain death ;O)
We had a "dry" wedding. We had sparkling cider for our toast.
I love these pictures
We were kind of sad no one thought to decorate the car!?! But we were off on to our honeymoon. We rented a house in Mendocino and it was beautiful there.
And that was my wedding in review lol. If I had to do it all over again I'd elope in Tahoe. No stress, no family, not much money!Pin It

Wow! Congrats on the 15 year mark. That's quite a milestone.
Happy anniversary! Sounds like it was quite the production, but turned out happy in the end.
Nice car, too ;-)
congrats on the Anniversary ... ours was yesterday (6th)... and our wedding was nothing like yours! We got up in the moring, I breastfed the 6 week old, dressed and fed the 4,5,6 and 7 year olds, we took off to the church, got married, headed home with all our friends and family and had a big feast at our house.. all our guests brought a plate of food... and we got a big freezer, a lawnmower and wheelbarrow among other useful things as gifts! All things we needed and wanted! It was a neat day!
Congratulations... a little late
I love your scrapbooking!
Congrats!
